PublicServiceCareers.org is the most authoritative and widely used website for finding jobs, career advice, and information on degrees in public service and public affairs. It is sponsored by the three most prominent organizations in professional public service and education: NASPAA, APPAM and ASPA.

The Chief is a New York City-based newspaper that has long focused on  municipal government, civil servants, and the issues affecting New York  State and federal employees.

There are three ways to get a job with the City:

• Find a job online
• Attend a recruitment event
• Take a civil service exam

The Westchester County Department of Human Resources posts a list of current job openings each week. Please note:

• These openings are posted for a specific period (usually 10 business  days), after which they will no longer appear on our Web site.
• Applications must be sent no later than the "Post Until" date to the person specified on the job posting.
• In keeping with collective bargaining agreements, current county  employees who apply are considered before applicants outside county  service.
• Titles in the competitive class (class = "C") will be subject to a  civil service examination in order to achieve permanent civil service  status.

The Suffolk County Department of Human Resources, Personnel and Civil  Service is responsible for overseeing personnel actions taken by some  241 employing jurisdictions including school districts, towns, villages  water districts, library districts, etc. Collectively, these  jurisdictions employ some 40,000 individuals.
